Christmas morning! How special that Christmas was celebrated on the Sabbath day.

Bryan and his very best friend!!! He is always by her even if she is trying to fall asleep. He gets her food and toys. He is very attentive to her every need.

New Years Eve tradition of wearing the crowns and hats we have had for five years! Let's see how long they will last! :)

One day when I pulled out the cold cereal for breakfast Jace quickly went to the pantry. Opened the door and pulled out the pancake batter saying. " I said I wanted breakfast!" Which meant mom I want pancakes and eggs. MY boys are all meat and potatoes guys.

'All done' Says Bryan at the table.
'I'm done my princess Mommy' - Lilly every time she poops. Letting me know it is my turn to wipe her bum. 'Is it all gone, mom?' 'Yep, I say and tell her to flush and wash.' She says she will do it herself (wipe before she goes to school)and sometimes she does.
"It's OK Mom! It's OK." Jace loves to say.
Medical update - Past month
Jake - Carbon monoxide poisoning, passing five kidney stones, allergies and a head cold. Poor man of mine!
Jace and Bryan have both had ear infections.
Lilly and Jace are recovering from a summer viral thing.
Mom - still pregnant with all sorts of the symptoms but won't bore you with details. Lets just say I feel that my body is 'All DONE'.
Here's a thought for those of you that notice when you are starting to get a head cold or sore throat are anything like it. Drink a few quarts of Red raspberry leaf tea. I like mine sweetened with honey. It really does cut the time in half if not completely. I love the stuff, um Jake not so much. The kids are starting to ask to have some. Plus it is good for growing babies - which I have been doing for the last few years:)

I thought I would just write a few things while I was thinking and just post them before I didn't even that much done. A friend's father of mine told me of how he knows people that print of their blog entries every year and binds them in book form to keep as their family journals. I loved the idea and so here I am. I don't have much time these days for fun scrapbooks or other forms of journals so here I am rambling on and on. I will one day catch up with the tech of things and hopefully be quick at posting the pictures. Until then reading is our update. I find myself writing on the back sheets of the child's well check forms that the doctors office hands out. This gives a short glance of what each one has been up too.
Speaking of reading we ordered a program to help us teach the kids to read. So far they love learning! We are still in our first week and already are seeing results.
I am looking forward to having them join in reading during family scripture time.

Can you really become too big to fit into your maturnity clothes?

That is my question of late. I have put skirts on that I wore during other pregnancies that now show my knees. My dear husband will simply ask if I am going to change my outfit before leaving the house. I get it I do. Last night he asked if my belly was hanging out. Sure enough... it was. Sixty pounds heavier than I was on my wedding day. I look forward to losing the weight and running with the kids.
I am now at 35 weeks and the doctor is estimating that our little girl weighs approx 8 to 8 1/2 lbs already. Given my track record he doesn't expect her to come anytime soon. So we are walking every night and I am doing some serious spring cleaning - all that I can do while chasing three kids around.
Last night we set up the crib and pulled out the baby clothes out of storage. Now the kids are telling baby sister to come out. Lilly told her should could come out in five minutes. Jace told her simply to 'Get out of there now'. Bryan loves his big boy bed. We are ready now so whenever she it will be great. So if you don't see a whole lot of us maybe it is because I ran out of things to wear. :)

I could be posting another baby for all you know. Just kidding - not yet! That will be in June! It's a girl! We are so excited! Lilly says her name is 'baby sister'. Thats it baby sister. She loves to 'hug' her baby sister and gives her kisses and then tells me that she is smiling and that she loves her too. Pregnancy has been a rough one with nausea and overehaustion. Most days I could just lay around. But thats not much of an option with three little ones. I do love movie time during the day, when Bryan sleeps and the others watch so I take a little nap on the couch. I told Lilly only to wake me if it is an emergency. One day she woke me saying 'Momma, it's an emergency! Jace is taking off his own POOPY diaper." "Yes, Lilly, Thank you that is an emergency!" Fortunatly he hadn't made a mess over anything but the clothes he was in.

Bryan's loves doors! He has been crawling since he was five and half months old. And since then he loves to open and close doors. Since he didn't mind not walking until ten and half months he is very fast. Our household knows to keep all doors to bathrooms closed. One morning while I was changing the boys first diapers of the day the phone rang. It was Jake needing me to forward something to him from his office upstairs. Immediately afterwards the door rang. I ran to the laundry room to put a more descent outfit on, while Lilly ran to see who was at the door. It was my brother and mom. I ran back downstairs to check on Bry-guy (as he is called around here). He was no where to be found. We could a 10 month old possible gone in a basement? Then I remembered the doors. I asked mom if she could help me look. "What do you mean you don't know where Bryan is?" I went to the bathroom door - first down the hall. I could not get it to open. That little boy had gone inside, shut the door, and then pulled out the drawer baracading himself inside. I could hear him playing with a wrapper of some sort. Mom said we were going to have to call for the firemen because a child was invovled. I told her I could break down a door just aeasily as they could. Thats when she called for Levi and I gave him a screwdriver to create a hole he could place his hand in and close the drawer that blocked the door from opening. You could hear at first Bryan was not a bit concerned, that was until he saw the screwdriver forcing bits of the door at him. Carefully the hole was made and the door was opened. Bryan had a reese's pieces wrapper in his hand and was looking at all of us like 'hey, what's up and why are you breaking things around here?' Thank goodness for hollow 80's doors!

Little did I know that when I took this picture that an adorable story would soon develop. Jake coaches and assists the local football team with their off season training. Jace sometimes goes with him if I have other appointments. He loves going with daddy and working out. Especially the pull up bar. He can just hang there for a long time. Ok so on this day they had just left the house when a few minutes later I received a phone call. It was Jake. "You are not going to believe what just happened?" What? was my reply. "I just got pulled over." Were you speeding? "No, the head light is out and it is raining. The police officer asked if Jace was my little brother. I told him thank you for the compliment but he is my son. 'Oh, I just saw the Football apparel and figured you were a student there' the officer said. Jake " I thanked him again for another compliment." It was really nice that he was mistakin as a student.

Bryan is a very happy boy and is growing very fast! He rolled over last week - Already! He smiles and laughs at his very funny sister. He has started talking more and is an easy going baby! We have been blessed with yet another breath of heaven! The Lord is kind!

Lilly loves being a big sister. She and Jace go on little trips together... Let's put on our shoes and go to Hawaii or to Grandma's house or to California. She loves 'our baby boy Bryan' and enjoys introducing him to others and gets very defensive if someone asks to keep him. I am trying to convince her of doing her hair in the mornings and at anytime of the day. She is very talkative and has her own opinion. She says the funniest things - I really need to write them down more often. Sometimes she gets so excited that all we here is 'nannannana ....and nannanana' with a big giggly smile at the end.

Jace loves to get into things and he is quiet about it. He has started talking in complete sentences and sits on the potty. He loves to read! He loves his brother too. I was actually very impressed with ow much he took to having a new one in the house. He is such a great boy! He is an early riser and I have found him into all sorts of things. From hersey kisses to trying on my clothes and shoes to cleaning my well needed shower. Try keeping pants on him? Good luck - I find trails of shoes, socks, and pants. During the winter I would put dark tights on him - clever because it kept at least his legs warmer but now the weather is changing we are going to have to be more creative.

Bryan Patrick Lake has arrived!!!

On 3/4/10 we welcomed Bryan Patrick Lake into this world at 1:13 in the afternoon.
Jess started Labor at 1:30 a.m. and after two hours we decided to take the kids to Grandma Lake's at 3:30 a.m. We arrived at the hospital at 4:00 a.m. thinking since Jace was only a 3 hour from check-in to delivery that Bryan would be as well. He had other plans. He waited 9 hours and finally came out face up, he did a little peek-a-boo several times and went back up to kick mama in the ribs before the doctor had to use forceps to get him to come out. He was such a little Turkey!! Jess even called him that during the delivery and made the Doctor laugh. He weighed in at 8lbs 14 ounces 20 in. long. Our biggest one yet!
Both Jess and Baby are doing great! We will be home on Saturday and thank all the congrats and well wishes.

To snow and stick or not to snow and stick! That has been question for the winter season for us. Where we have been watching the Olympics this week the kids are getting the hang of some of the sports and loving it. Figure skating began and so did the kids turning with each move. We went roller skating yesterday and now our son keeps his hands behind his back and his starts to skate. Lilly loves the sleds and so after breakfast we went to a nearby retaining basin for some morning fun that is before the snow melted.

Jace had his own intentions of playing in the snow. Most of all he just wanted to get out and explore.

With both sets of Grandparents so close there is not a reason not to celebrate the entire day with family. Tibbals tradition is Biscuits and Gravy for Christmas Brunch which is always yummy. Lake tradition is Christmas dinner which makes for a perfect day! We are so thankful for the Love all of our family shares with us. Thank each and everyone of you for all you do for us. The most important thing you can give is the love and time you spend with our children. WE LOVE YOU!

Lilly picked out the material and the pattern for her Christmas pj which Grandma made for her. They were both excited and Lilly said "I love a my dress I love a my dress. Good Job Grandma, Thank you, Thank you!"

Thank you Papa for not putting a real dog in the carrier!! She loves her puppy and has to take it everywhere with her. That and her pony.
"Here Grandma you watch my toys!" She would get upset if anyone would placed them on the ground so there ya go.
A suddle hint from Grandma! No we still haven't decided on our little boys name. Can you tell it is driving Grandma nutzykookoo! :)

Too much excitement can leave one to fall asleep at the dinner table. Notice the Spoon! He did not want a nap all day long!

So when the kids woke up and we asked if we had a visitor that night here is where they went.

Happy Birthday Baby Jesus Christ! I love this girl!

"I found Baby Jesus Christ!" We had put Baby Jesus away for the last week before Christmas and I kept telling the kids that they would find him under the tree on Christmas morning. She was so excited about it. I love to hear her saying Baby Jesus Christ too. So cute! So appropriate!

GIFTS ARE FOR SHARING!
Jace stole Daddy's new tools and went away by himself to enjoy.
Lilly heard me say to her daddy 'here honey' - while handing him some wrapping paper to place in the garbage bag. Next thing we know she is painstakingly peeling the tape off of each giftbox and says to her daddy 'here honey'. 'thanks pumpkin' comes his reply. Next piece of tape is handed with 'here ya go pumpkin'... with a giggle and smile across her face. She is so very funny!
Jace is too excited about the snowman on the front of the box to care to see what was actually in the box. He loves snowmen! Just when I was updating the blog this evening he says to me, with snowpants in hand. "Help, make snowman." Maybe when the sun is out tomorrow.
He loves his new car! That is when sister isn't taking it.
"A Pink Princess Bike Just for Me?" Wherever we went this past year if she saw a bike she wanted to be on it and so for Christmas guess what she asked Santa for. She still needs daddy's help. Mommy can't exactly bend over like that a whole lot right now. That will change in 9 weeks though! :)

Christmas Eve Dinner Tradition!
This year we held it at my parents house. Jake provided the meat and the rest was left up to the host. Normally we hold it but seeming that I was not feeling that well Jake and mom decided to do it another way. I love to dress the whole family up and we tell the kids that we are going to a very special birthday party. I know I know.... my brothers inform me that Jesus' birthday isn't until the 25th but I enjoy this tradition that Jake I have started.After a nice meal we sit down to read the nativity story from the Bible. Thank you honey for making it happen this year! You are amazing in so many ways.

Here we are in front of one of the two big trees at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This year we were able to help decorate both parents homes for Christmas and the kids really enjoyed all of the many things about Christmas.

Dewey Vanesa and Wyatt joined us too. Here the kids love the ramp. They entertain eachother for a very long time here.

Ok so this was not on Christmas Eve but a few days before. As you might tell, niether kid wanted to be close to Santa even though they kept chanting 'Santa Claus is coming to town' for days before.

Life is great - Here's some summer fun!

Because life can be random fun so can I - after all it is fun to have fun!!! This blog will not be in any particular order - just smile and enjoy it! :) We went swimming every week we could. She is not longer afraid of the swimming pool. She dubs the boots I found for her brother and we traveled to be with my sis and her fam for the 4th, after the family reunion which I trimmed his hair so he could see the world of family far away!

Ok ok!!! So I have been slacking on the blog for a LONG while!!! Excuses - um well, lets see..... Keeping up with a one and half year old son that loves to climb into and onto EVERYTHING, who does not understand the word or meaning of NO! A two and half year old daughter who is very independant, loves to be motherly to that boy, and is still trying to potty train (She goes at least once a day on the potty- boy it amazes me as to how any of us got this far). All a while trying to stay on top of all the regular house chores. With this wonderful duo combo that loves buttons - I don't even try to attempt unless they are asleep SHHHH don't wake them!!! Oh, yes did i forget to mention that we are expecting another baby - BOY that is!!! Yes, life here is crazy...fun!!! We haven't even begun to talk about names yet. We are excited about all sorts of things. Daddy has been coaching football locally here and loved every day of it. 0-9 but it was the first season. He is tempted to help with soccer - about the same time baby comes. Halloween costumes almost complete. Holiday season coming up and the dear friends and family we love and hold dear! Luckily other than the 'common' head colds we have been well this year. Ok enough with the catching up Let's see some pictures uh!!!

Road trip - California!

Yeah! Ok so there are so many pictures that I am just going to break it up into days or trip. I hope you enjoy! First we stayed in Prim and then drove on the Redlands for Karen's big day. Grandma, Tricia and Missy went to the graduation so our family and Jeff hung out. We saw the Redlands temple and had rootbeer freezes later. Aunt Laura was such a wonderful hostess and had a delicious dinner for all of us before graduation and had some yummy deserts later. Karen looked beautiful and was excited to graduate with her class and to spend the evening in Disneyland. Grad Night! Fun stuff. We all ate at IHOP the next morning. It was great to see everybody again. After breakfast we went on to San Deigo with a little stop in Murrietta to reminience of course. It was nice to meet Erika and to see the place the family always talks about good times were had. My favorite was going to the San Diego Temple with my eternal sweetheart! It was an amazing night. Thank you to Grandma and Missy for watching the kids on our road trip! Ok so the first slide.....

Amber's wedding was the whole reason we went to Denver in that historical snow storm. Congratulations again to Amber and Levi. Missy, Amber and Tricia.

Oh what do you do when there is a foot of snow on the ground in Denver and it is still coming? Go swimming! Jace loved the water.... Lilly not too much.

Remodel Update

Almost finished!!
Horray Horray!!! We still have to paint the ceiling and the new trim.... the front door needs to be raised and a few other touches... it will soon be ready for final pictures. We are pleased with it and it looks great! Jake really wanted the remodeling done the weekend of the 27th of February. Boy, does that seem forever ago!!! The good news is that we were able to keep the cost in the orginal budget! The orginal cabinets look wonderful in the garage. We were able to save most of the granite so we were able to match it with a new piece instead of having to purchase two slabs we only needed one. The stainless steel appliances that were new with the older kitchen look even better in the new kitchen. We did have a few hicups with the faucet and dishwasher...so we bought different ones. We love it! And it feels so good to enjoy it with family and friends!

The kids and I are happy that we get our home back during the day. It was nice to see the workers come and put our house back together again but it is even better to have them on their way. I can't believe how stressful it is to have 'strangers' come and work for so long that they seem to become additions to the home. We will post other pictures soon, as for now these will have to do.

What do you do when the dishwasher hose leaks and floods the kitchen?
Most people would mop up the mess and get a new hose. Not the Lake's, we had discussed a remodel of the kitchen to create a 'home' for the fridge but it wasn't supposed to happen for a few years. However..... with the laminate flooring comprimised we decided that we were only going to redo the kitchen floor once and since it happened to go throughout the entire level so did the remodeling. Enjoy the pictures and we will update with the finished project in the next two weeks. Have a beautiful day!!!

Christmas Memories of 2008

Pre-Christmas!

Adventzeit! We did a few things each Sunday prior to Christmas ,we made gingerbread houses from scratch. Lilly helped make the dough and before she could help decorate with mommy & daddy she and Jace fell asleep. Jake and I felt like we were on a date at home. We both love design so it was fun. Lilly quickly understood that the houses had treats on them the next morning. So she would push the chair up to them chanting 'no no no' as she pulled pieces off to eat them Yummy candy! She was so proud of herself. "No No No" = mmmmm!Jace loved Santa's reindeer bells. Lilly... love anything about Santa? Um.. No so much!

We made a nice turkey dinner for Christmas Eve and read the Nativity Story from the bible afterwards. A tradition we are looking forward to doing every year. (It was my first turkey I ever cooked! and Surprise - it turned out perfect!)

On St. Nikolaus tag(day - December 6th) the children received a kids nativity set. They played with it all of December. A few favorites - Jace mauling the angel and trying to eat baby Jesus. Baby Jesus was placed higher for safe keeping. He also liked the sheep a lot. Lilly taking the manger apart and carrying it all through the house - everyday! My all time favorite was after we went to open gifts on Christmas day - Lilly went straight to the manger scene and started handing out the characters to all of us. It is precious to me that 'a young child shall lead them.'

The fun has just begun!

I will post Christmas and New Years shortly, but for right now I wanted to share the fun that Jace has discovered. That of surprise and Yes, picking on his sister. He will be a whopping 7 months old on the 12th and is already well on his way of playing the role of the teasing brother.

Originally I placed Jace in the walker to help 'protect' him from Lilly. Well, lets just say he has figured out how to maneuver it to his advantage. Just yesterday he learned that if he let me pass in front of him he could quickly cut sister off when she tried to follow me. The best or worst part of it all is that he laughed. So Lilly, tries to pull his walker back to let herself through. Just as she goes to place her hand on the walker he quickly stops or rolls the other direction leaving her only to slip and fall to the floor. Yes, folks the fun has just begun!

He has also discovered if he runs into the slightly opened bathroom door he can surprise his sister's bath time!

Another one for Jace! I do love to hear him laugh! It is very contagious. As long as Lilly isn't upset to much. They are easily entertained with another and do play nicely with each other - for the most part right now. Life is great!

Halloween Update!

Our little Pixie girl and little golfer boy, here with grandma. They are all laughing because Scotty has to make sure he is in all of the family pictures. Funny dog who really believes he is human.

Lilly loved Trick or Treating! Once she got the hang of it (which wasn't long), she started grabbing candy out of her purse (she loves purses) to give to the people who would open the doors to give her candy. It was her way of giving and trading treats. She ran from house to house. We had to slow her down because it was easy for her to trip. Silly Girl. It was so much fun to watch her interact with our friends.

Jace had a good time just watching his sister. He thinks she is very funny! I love to watch him laugh at the things she does.

Hey Lilly! What are you and Momma up to?

Hey Jace! Its canning season! Apricots, peaches, necterines, apples and now onto grapes! Jucies, fruit rollups, slices and even jams!

Yummy!

Jace has been pushing himself in the walker for a few weeks now - backwards of course. He has started to laugh outloud as well. He especially enjoys laughing at his sister. She makes him smile and laugh everyday.

Lilly has discovered the joy of eating olives!

Yes! She is a silly girl!

We love our life!

Just a Few Thoughts

LIFE IS SO VERY PRECIOUS! It never ceases to amaze me this reoccurring lesson taught by our Father in Heaven. He is in charge and loves us all so very much! As I was looking at my two wonderful child this morning I saw unconditional love in their eyes. Even if our home has been hit with the cold flu season. With runny noses and little whines it is nice to see them still smiling! Another lesson to keep relearning - keep smiling regardless of what happens to us. I love that they love each other so very much. It is cute to watch Lilly try to take Jace in her arms to give him a real hug. They enjoy kissing each other too.
LIFE IS INTERESTING! As we are in search for a vehicle I am reminded of how thankful I am for things. About a month ago while Jake went to guards in Salt Lake his car was stolen from the Orem Armory. When he called me he asked if I was playing a practical joke on him. I had to reassure him several times that I was not. Turns out, after reporting it on Saturday we received the phone call Sunday night informing us that it was recovered and that someone had tried to destroy it. After a scary night of wondering who would be out to get us. I asked Jake to pray to get the fear out of our home and then we went on enjoying our lives. I just kept thinking that we all were safe and with each other, what more could we really ask for? Nothing in my mind. Sure, life hands us some crazy things some times. But I know that when as a family you wade it out it all works out. Good news - the car is totaled! I was dreading owning a burnt inside vehicle if they weren't declaring it totaled, along with dirt and gravel in the gas tank, oil and steering fluid.
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! Autumn with its smells of leaves and cooking! This week Lilly made all sorts of types of breads with her Grandma Tibbals. (Only mommy forgot the camera). Lilly especially loved the zucchini bread. And of course grandma taught her how to lick the spatula. She was in heaven. Only we had to fight her to get it away from her. Now she smiles when she has a new piece of their special made bread! We have also enjoyed raking up leaves and running through them with the cousins. Jace started to roll over last week and he is constantly blowing raspberries. He sits up in the walker and Lilly comes and stands on the side, both laughing. He also has started to laugh with others. Grandma and Grand Lake get a kick out of watching him. Lilly keeps us in stitches with all of her expressions and the little things she does. She is always doing something!
LIFE IS GOOD! Hearing the Good Word of God! Conference weekend was wonderful! Aside from Jake not being able to watch it with us because of guards. The kids and I watch the last session with Grandma and Grandpa Lake. Between the two kids I didn't hear all of it but that what I did hear it was just what I needed! I loved Elder Wirthlin's example of using sense of humor in our lives and it was great to be holding both kids at the time our prophet was telling us to enjoy them today because they grow up so fast. I am so thankful that Jake watched both of them so I could listen to women's conference with the other sisters in our stake. Pres. Uchtdorf's talk especially reached my heart with many reminders of things I needed to hear and do.

Dewey and Vanessa are proud parents!!! Wyatt Kenneth Tibbals was born at 5:45 p.m yesterday. He came in weighing 7 lbs and 20 1/2 inches long. We are yet to see pictures but you could hear and almost see the biggest grin on Dewey's face when he gave us the news. The two are extremely excited and they could hardly wait a day longer to get their little boy here. We are happy for you all!!! You will be great parents! We Love You!!

When we heard they induced Vanessa yesterday morning Jake came home worried and wanted to let Dewey know they should get that baby out ASAP. Well, Jace heard the seriousness in his Daddy's voice and almost started to cry. With Jace's bottom lip all quivering I told Jace to tell his cousin Wyatt to 'come out right now'. Later, we found out that Wyatt's mommy was thinking that same thing at that same time. Jace and Wyatt are only 3 months and 5 days apart. They have brought up the tally to three grandsons. His is the last of the three babies to be born this year. Charlotte came to Steve and MeLinda in March. Grandma Tibbals is ecstatic that the babies are all here, safe, sound and healthy. Not to mention there are 11 wonderful grandchildren now! We are oh so blessed!!!

Football season is already here! Which means Daddy and Lilly cheer really loud. I can't believe it starts so young. Lilly loves to clap! She already is getting a hang of the game too. I will throw the ball out into the yard and she goes to get it. She is a hoot! Brother can't wait to be older, he tried to wiggle out of his car seat the other day - he made it onto his side with his feet over the edge. He is too quick already.
